Even “he” is the same before the law

After two days of discussions, threats and pressure the Constitutional Court has made it clear to the entire country ( hopefully, once we know the motivations of the Court ) that we are all the same in front of the law. In normal circumstances it would only take a minute to recognize the validity of Article 3 of the Constitution, however, this is Italy and it took 48 hours. Six out of fifteen constitutional judges thought otherwise. Fortunately they remained a minority and Berlusconi has once again become a defendant before the law. Perhaps, President Napolitano will now be inclined to reflect on that unconstitutional law he put his signature to, one of many signed by him. It is really nice to have a free newspaper to write this in. It’s nice to know that at least one of our institutions still guarantees justice and has not sold itself to the final “User”.
